23 September 2010, Khanty-Mansiysk, Siberia – Yesterday afternoon in the second round of the chess Olympiad, the Malaysian men’s team beat the Hong Kong chess team, 3.5 – 0.5.
At last one win under the belt for the Malaysians. In the third round, the Malaysian team will meet another European chess team, Lithuania, a former Soviet Russia country. Lithuania is ranked 39th in this Olympiad.
Individual Performances: The table summarises the points achieved so far for all the individual players of the men’s Malaysia chess team in the Olympiad 2010.
IM Mas is leading with 1.5 pts, followed by IM Mok and FM Peter Long with 1.0 pts and NM Tan Khai Boon with 0.5 pts. Captain Gregory Lau has not played yet.
