After white won a pawn at h4 with the knight, black will probably check white’s king with the rook, 43. Rg4+. This will win black the white knight and white winning another pawn at e5.

Black could possibly win with best play but play stopped with a draw. Black’s king is a little passive compared to white’s.

Good draw for both players.

At Linares, Spain the category 21 Super-Tournament turned up all draws for the three boards played in round 1, 13th February 2010. This year’s event has only six players, though last year there was eight and three years before there were sixteen players. As they say, the show must go on!
