Sumant, Kellie Champions At NRCC 2011

 

3 October 2011, Kuala Lumpur – In Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak, the National Rapid Chess Championship 2011 Open Category was won by Sumant Subramaniam (pix above) with 7 points from 8 rounds. He beat 60 other players who participated in the two-day event held on the 1-2 October 2011. In second place was National Master Tan Khai Boon with 6.5 points and third place Ian Udani, also with 6.5 points.

Meanwhile in the Under-16 category, Kellie Lim Pei Ying won with 6.5 points and a superior tie-break points. In second place was Tan Wei Kit also with 6.5 points. Third place was won by Elvis Woo Yi Shien with 6.0 points.

2nd National Rapid Chess Championship 2011 in Perak

14 September 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is a message from the Project Director of the 2nd National Rapid Chess Championship 2011 at University Technology Petronas, Bandar Seri Iskandar, Tronoh, Perak.

The event is divided into Open, U-18, U-16, U-14, U-12, U-10 and U-8 categories.

“UTP chess team is currently organizing the following competition. Attached is the 2nd National Rapid Chess Championship (NRCC) 2011 poster and registration form.

Details of event:
Date: 1-2 October 2011 (Saturday/Sunday)
Venue: UTP Main Hall
Time: 8.00am-7.00pm
Registration ends 1 week before the competition.
