Haikal Zharif winner of ICE Serie 6 Chess Challenge 2018

2 Sep 2018, Kuala Lumpur - Haikal Zharif emerged as the new champion for the ICE Chess Challenge Serie 6 2018. He collected 7.5 points from eight rounds and the winner's trophy.

His performance rating was 1846 for the tournament.

2 Sep 2018, Kuala Lumpur - Here at ICE Chess Challenge Serie 6 2018, Haikal Zharif Abdul Jamil has emerged outright leader. He has scored 4.5 points from 5 rounds of play. The two top boards drew their games. The fifth round finished late into 11.20 am as board 17 had an endgame battle. White hoping for a stalemate. In the end black pieces won the game.

Mohd Bakri, Iwan Schani, Suhaimi Asmuni and Haikal Zharif are playing on top two boards of round 4. It is a FIDE-rated tournament using a 30 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per player per move.

ICE Chess Challenge Serie 6 begins tomorrow

31st Aug 2018, Kuala Lumpur - The ICE Chess Challenge Serie 6 will begin tomorrow. It will be held at the Institute for Chess Excellence in Puchong. The tournament is meant for under 1600 rated players and will be played over two days, 1-2 Sept 2018. Time control will be 30 minutes plus 30 second increment.

At the moment there are 45 players registered.
