Zhao, Yifan Leaders In Shenzhen

10 September 2011, Kuala Lumpur - In Shenzen FIDE Women Grand Prix, Zhao Xue and Hou Yifan jointly leads with 2.5 points after third round of play. The official website of the tournament reported that during the third round playing White World Champion Hou Yifan gave first half a point to Turkish player Betul Yildiz. Her compatriot Zhao Xue also made a draw against Zhu Chen. Viktorija Cmilyte and Tan Zongyi managed to win their games against Elina Danielian and Ekaterina Kovalevskaya accordingly. Munguntuul B took her first half a point in the game against Anna Muzychuk. Ruan Lufei made the third draw in a raw against Ju Wenjun. As a result the situation with leaders didn`t change – both Hou Yifan and Zhao Xue have 2.5 points after 3 games and share first place. Viktorija Cmilyte, Anna Muzychuk and Tan Zhongy share the third place with 2 points.

FIDE Women Grand Prix Shenzhen 2011

6 September 2011, Kuala Lumpur – The Week In Chess reports on the upcoming 2nd Women’s Grand Prix taking place 7-19 September 2011 in Shenzen.

The Week In Chess said that ” The event was pushed back a week from the original start date to give Women's World Champion Hou Yifan the best chance of participation. She was in the FIDE World Cup but was eliminated in the first round. 

Other participants: Ju Wenjun, Victorija Cmilyte (winner of the Women's Botvinnik Memorial), Zhu Chen, Anna Muzychuk, Betul Cemre Yildiz, Munguntuul Batkhuyag, Elina Danielian, Alisa Galliamova, Ruan Lufei and Ekaterina Kovalevskaya. Games start at 3pm local time, 8am UK. Rd1 on Wednesday 7th August 2011.”
