16 Sep 2012, Kuala Lumpur – In Ipoh, Perak, the Malaysia Day Open Chess Championship 2012 was successfully held with 258 participants. The Open Category was won by Fong Yit San. Second, Syazwan Zulkifli and third, Ahmad Fadzil Nayan.
In the Under-16 Category, Jagathees Guna Balan came out winners. While the Under-12 category was won by Muhammad Hazid Ekquan.

14 Sep 2012, Kuala Lumpur – The organisers of the Malaysia Day Chess Open Tournament in Ipoh, Perak, Classical Chess in collaboration with Kinta Chess Club, has announced that the venue of its tournament has been changed to Sekolah Kebangsaan Cator Avenue, Lebuh Cator, Ipoh, Perak. The school is located beside Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Anderson, Opposite Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Kinta and in front of Ipoh General Hospital.
REGISTERED ENTRIES TILL 12 MIDNITE 13TH SEPT : 177 PLAYERS.
The Malaysia Day Chess Open Tournament 2012 will be held on 16 September 2012, Sunday.

10 August 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Classical Chess in collaboration with North Kinta Chess Association of Perak are organising the Malaysia Day Chess Open Tournament 2012 on the 16th September 2012, Sunday in Ipoh, Perak. The tournament will be divided into three categories, namely, Open, U-16 and U-12 age groups.
It will be a 7 rapid round Swiss-System with 25 minutes time control per player.
Registration fees are RM25 (Open), RM16 (U-16) and RM12 (U-12). Closing date: 14 September 2012
