Final Ranking, 2nd Leg, KL Grand Prix Chess Rapids 2010

Here are the final rankings of the 2nd leg of the Kuala Lumpur Grand Prix Rapids 2010 held over two days, 6-7 March 2010 at the Card Room, Royal Selangor Club near Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
In first place is Mohd Nabil b Azman Hisham with a near perfect score of 5.5 points from 6 rounds. This young man is going places and would surely make a strong impression in the upcoming National Age-Group Chess Championships in Penang next weekend.

In second place is Roshan Singh, son to Dr Ajeet Singh, the tournament co-organisers of KL Grand Prix. Roshan, 13 years old, scored 5.0 points from some pretty tough opponents like Jax Tham, Kaushal Khandar and Mark Siew. Roshan just obtained his FIDE rating recently and it is a high 1871. Roshan’s play is steadily improving and gaining more confidence in his own games.
In third place is veteran, Jax Tham Tick Hong, who has a FIDE rating of 2076 and always a formidable chess opponent anytime. Jax scored 4.5 points. He drew with Roshan and his only lost is against Abdul Haq Mohamed.
This leads to the fourth place winner, Abdul Haq Mohamed with 4.5 points too. While Low Jun Jian who beat me in the first round, won fifth placing. Jun Jian scored 4.0 points.

For the under-12 category, Subramaniam Sivanesan was champion with 5.5 points and little sister, Nithyalakshmi Sivanesan took second spot with 4.5 points. In third place was, Putri Rifqah bt Azhar with 4.5 points while in fourth is Amier Hamzah b Mohd Zuhri with 4.5 points too. In fifth place is Sathish Hemant with 4.0 points from 6 rounds.
