Zaidan Declared Champion September Insofar

1 October 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Last Sunday, 30 Sep 2012 the September Insofar Chess Tournament was held at the Arthur Tan Chess Center, Wilayah Complex, Kuala Lumpur. Zaidan Zulkipli won the September edition with a 5.5 score. Sumant was a close second scoring 5.5 points, too but losing out on tie-break points. A total of 28 players participated. With almost 90% of players winning one prize.

Zaidan Declared Insofar Combined May Tournament Champ!

21 May 2012, Kuala Lumpur – On Sunday, the Insofar Combined May Tournament was held and Zaidan Zulkipli (pix above) scored 6.5 points from 7 rounds of play. Zaidan was declared the Champion for the May 2012 Insofar Combined Chess Tournament.

Second, Yeoh Li Tian with 6 points. Third, Muhd Syazwan Zulkifli with 5.5 points. Fourth, Efren Bagamasbad, also with 5.5 points and fifth, Sumant Subramaniam with 5.5 points.

Best blogger went to IM Jimmy Liew Chee-Meng with 5.5 points. He was also sixth. Yat Guo Jie won the best IPT student at 5 points! Jax Tham Tick Hong won the Best Veteran with 4.5 points. Olivia Madhavan won the Best Under-1500 rated player!

The scholarship is a GIFT from Insofar. It is not a RIGHT.

Scholarship winner :
1) Must play minimum once every 3 years in Scholarship Tournament

Results Of Insofar Chess Tournament March 2012

27 March 2012, Kuala Lumpur – At DATCC last Sunday, 25 March 2012, the Insofar Combined Tournament March edition was held. A grand total of 140 participants took part and one of the largest weekenders seen at the chess center.

Yeoh Li Tian had a wonderful tournament winning all seven rounds of rapid chess play, scoring 7 full points. While in second place is unknown Yusop Sahibul with 6 points. Third, Muhd Alfirdaus Md Nazir, fourth, Muhd Syazwan Zulkifli and fifth Kamaluddin Yusof. All three players scored 6 points.

Ahmad Fadzil Nayan Wins Insofar Combined Tournament Feb 2012

27 February 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Yesterday at DATCC was held the INSOFAR Combined Tournament 2012 for the month of February 2012. Ahmad Fadzil Nayan turned out to be the day’s champion with 6.5 points from seven rounds of rapid chess play.

Sumant Wins Insofar Combined Tournament 2012

5 Feb 2012, Kuala Lumpur - Here are the round 7 results and final rankings of the January Insofar Combined Tournament 2012 held last weekend 29 January 2012 in DATCC Kuala Lumpur.

Sumant was declared the January Insofar Combined Champion. Sumant scored 6.5 points after overcoming Kamaluddin Yusof in the final seventh round. Second, NM Kamalariffin Wahiduddin with 6.0 points and Chek Kin Keow in third position.
