GM Ziaur Juara Terbuka Telok Gong

4 Julai 2010, Telok Gong – Sebelum pusingan ke-6, tiga pemain menerajui iaitu 1. GM Ziaur, 2. Ian Udani, 3. Ismail Ahmad, semua nya mempunyai 5 mata setiap seorang.

Pada pusingan ke-7, pusingan terakhir, 1st board GM Ziaur (6 mata)(putih) vs Ian Udani (5.5 mata), so far their match is 1-1.

Keputusan: GM Ziaur menang kerana menang masa namun dalam kedudukan yang kurang memuaskan.

Ada berpandangan cara permainan catur GM Ziaur Rahman adalah "solid positional attack and defence", cekap bermain "active defence" ala Karpov. Permainan GM Ziaur melihatkan pemahaman yang tinggi semasa GM Ziaur Rahman vs Abdul Haq semasa "middlegame", sebab nampak beliau memahami konsep endgame yang efektif. Semasa papan pertama, GM Ziaur Rahman berjaya buat BAD BISHOP kepada Abdul Haq, sementara di papan kedua, NM Zarul Syazwan suka buat sendiri BAD BISHOP semasa lawan Amitpal Singh.

Telok Gong PRO-AM Chess Tourney Update!

1 July 2010, Kuala Lumpur - Here are some updates from Azhar Said for the chess tounament scheduled on Sunday, July 4th, 2010.
1. R1 Pairing will be out on the tourney day, due to unavoidable technical problem.
2. Game will start at 9.00am.
3. All players are advised to take any precautions in order to ensure their smooth journey.
Simple directions to get there.

For NKVE / PLUS users, find your way to Klang > Pelabuhan Barat > Telok Gong ( Turn right after passes Jusco Bukit Tinggi ), and follow below guidance.

For Kesas Highway users.

1. Go straight towards Pulau Indah / Pelabuhan Barat until you find 'Telok Gong' signboards ( about 3 to 5 signboards )

2. Follow instruction ( arrow shows to turn left at the juncion ). From here, just go straight,  it takes about 4km to reach Dewan Hamid Tuah ( on the left ).

3. You can also ask local folks where the location is about ( be careful; a lots of foreigners there; they will only smile if they do not understand, hehehe )

4. No details can be found through the Google map.
