Yusof Yasnain Is Winner Of UTM Skudai Open Category

26 September 2010, Skudai - At the Open Category UTM SKUDAI - 1st Yusof Yasnain, 2nd Mohd Faizal, 3rd Herman Rahman,4th Eddy Kwan,5th Than Khang Chee, 6th Kristopher,7th Marzuki, 8th Ilyas, 9th Nur Syawaludin, 10th Nasrul Humaimi. There were a total of 24 participants for the Open category with 6 round Swiss Rapid play.

UTM First Sunday Chess

26 September 2010, Skudai– There are at least three chess tournaments being played around the country and one of them is the University Technology Malaysia (UTM) First Sunday Chess Rapid being held at its UTM campus in Skudai, Johor.

A few friends are participating there and the latest news is that after three rounds, the top four  players are Yusof Hasnain, 2nd Syawaluddin, 3rd Herman and fourth is Mohd Faizal.

The other two chess tournaments are being held further north. One is at DATCC, Wilayah Complex, the DATCC Super Superme Chess Weekender, which is national rated. Datuk Tan Chin Nam is reported to be playing there today.

And the other is in Kampar being held at Grand Kampar Hotel, Kampar, Perak by the Perak International Chess Asssociation (PICA) as part of the many legs of the Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng Grand Prix Chess 2010.
