8 September 2010, Kuala Lumpur – With the Malaysian Chess Festival 2010 over, all eyes will be on the upcoming Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk, Siberia, Russia, which will be held from 21st Sept – 3rd October 2010.
The Chess Olympiad organising Committee has keyed-in the teams that have officially registered on chess-results.com website, all set for the big day. Russia has sent three teams to this event. On the list below, Malaysia is number 83 with the team’s average rating of 2325 and En. Abdul Hamid Majid as the team captain to this event.
Malaysia’s men chess team comprise of IM Mas Hafizulhelmi, IM Mok Tze-Meng, FM Peter Long, newly crowned National Master Tan Khai Boon and Gregory Lau, Secretary of MCF.
While team captain for the ladies is En. Megat Muhammad Nizam b Ab Bahar in 74th position with an average team rating of 1941.
The Malaysian women’s team composition of Alia Anin Azwa bt Bakri, WCM Nur Nabila bt Azman Hisham, Fong Mi Yen, Nurul Huda bt Wahiduddin and Roslina bt Marmono as shown below.
