GM Dimitry Leads In Seniors Open, Magdalaga In Ambank Challenge

7 September 2010, Kuala Lumpur – In the 1st Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng International Seniors Open 2010 being held at a slower pace than the Malaysian Open due to fewer rounds, GM Kayumov Dimitry from Uzbekistan is leading into the final 7th round of the Seniors Open with 5.5 points.

He looks set to take the top prize of RM4000 and the challenge trophy as he meets with Lim Kian Hwa of Malaysia in the final round this morning.

FM Brian Jones of Australia is in second place with 4.0 points together with three others. In the four pointer group includes IM Tan Lian Ann of Singapore, Ronald Gross of USA and Lim Kian Hwa of Malaysia.

Meanwhile in the Ambank Chess Challenge 2010, Magdalaga Luffe of the Philippines is leading with 7.0 points. He meets WFM Le Thi Phuong Lien of Vietnam on top board in the final 9th round this morning. While Kent Rupesh of India meets Tan Ken Wei of Malaysia on second board to decide the overall line up of winners. Rupesh has 6.5 points, WFM Le Thi Phuong Lien 6.5 points and Ken Wei 6.0 points.
