Ian Udani Wins Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Open

28 December 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Chess enthusiasts around the Klang Valley inundated the playing hall of the Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Open Chess Tournament at the DATCC, 4th Floor, Wilayah Complex, Kuala Lumpur held last Sunday. Ian Udani won the SM’s 1Malaysia Rapid Open with 6.5 points and Jasur Madjiduv in second place with 6.0 points and third was Suhaidi Mustapha, also with 6.0 points.

A few familiar faces included Sarawak Open Champion, Jasur Madjiduv, Ian Udani, Suhairi Hussin, Abdullah Che Hassan, Ahmad Fadzil Nayan, S Balendran, Salam Maamor, Abdul Syukur, Fikri Saleh, Suhaimi Mustafa Albakri and Muhammad Arshad of Terengganu.

A record turnout of 118 players were playing on 59 chess boards in the seven round swiss chess event of the SM’s 1Malaysia Chess Tournament last Sunday, 26 December 2010.
