Women’s World Championship Round 1 Pairings

Logo Women World Chess Ch 2010 4 December 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Here are the round 1 pairings of the Women’s World Chess Championship being held in Antakya, Turkey with those shown on the left as white and right as black.
The format for this tournament: There shall be five (5) rounds of matches, comprising two (2) games per round, with the winners progressing to the next round. The 6th round (final round) shall be played over four (4) games and the winner will be declared Women’s World
Champion.
This is a knock out event, therefore, all players with white must win. If a draw occurs, then sudden death game kicks in. Players draws the colours, white gets 5 mins of play and black gets 4 minutes of play. In sudden death, a draw is a win for black. Failing which the player that loses a round drops out of the tournament during the first five rounds until just two players remain in the final and the format changes again.
