2 May 2010 – FM Nicholas Chan beat 70 other players to become the 37th Selangor Open Chess Champion with an unassailable 7.5 points from 9 rounds of gruelling play packed over four days of play. Second was IM Jimmy Liew with 7.0 points and third was Kamalariffin Wahiduddin also with 7.0 points.
While from 4th-7th placings were Yeoh Li Tian, Loo Swee Leong, Zulkifli Muhd Syazwan and Tan Ken Wei all with 6.5 points in that order. While the 8th-10th placings went to Ian Udani, Mohd Khair Wahiduddin and Ismail Ahmad, all with 6.0 points each, in that order.
