First Friday Classical Chess (October 2009) Final Results

Final standings of FFCC Oct 2009.

The First Friday Classical Chess for the month of October 2009 was played out as planned from 2nd - 4th October 2009. About 11 youngsters and Jax Tham played the 5 round Swiss at the Excel Chess Academy, Overseas Union Garden, Kuala Lumpur.

The overall winner is none other than Jax Tham, the organiser of the tournament series. However, I think the intention of providing an avenue for playing a classical chess time of 90 mins + 30 seconds has been achieved. The youngsters will need plenty of training and exposure before they can beat the likes of Jax Tham who is 2000+ FIDE-rating.

Second was Mark Siew, followed by Joshua Foong,  Tin Jun Hao. Best under 12 player went to Chiew Yan Wei with 2.0 points; Best under 10 player went to Sooi Ching Wei.
