Michael Adams Lead In The 97th Championships of the British Isles

1 August 2010, Canterbury – In the United Kingdom, the 97th Chess Championships of the British Isles is being played from 25th July till 7th August 2010 at the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom. The tournament is an 11 round Swiss System. Its time control uses the following format: a. 100 minutes for first 40 moves, b. add 50 minutes after 40 moves, c. add 15 minutes after 60 moves, d. add 30 seconds of Increment from move one.

Currently, GM Michael Adams is leading with 5.5 points after six rounds of play. Adams drew his 6h round game against Nick Pert. Today is a rest day for the tournament players.
