UIA OPEN 2009: LIM YEE WENG IS THE CHAMP!

The Universiti Islam Antarabangsa open rapid event one of the strongest rapid event yet for this year. From a quick scan of the full list of tournament players, one can see that almost every major top chess player of this country were present there. From Lim Yee Weng to Nicholas Chan and Ian Udani. Lim Yee Weng emerged a clear winner with 6.5 points from seven games. Sharing second place to fifth place are Nicholas Chan, Sumant Subramaniam, Edward Lee and Jax Tham. Terengganu Nor Ilhamuddin 5 points finished 15th place.
