Sicilian Dragon Seminar A Success!!

The Sicilian Dragon seminar on the 15th November 2009 conducted by the IM Lim Yee Weng was a roaring success. The newly elected Malaysian IM succeeded in wooing the crowd at the DATCC from 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm on the many intracacies of the devastating opening for Black, the renown Sicilian Dragon.

IM Lim Yee Weng has used the opening since he was 10 years old and has continued to use this useful opening in his repertoire at the international and national scene. GMs like Anand, Gary Kasparov, Radjabov have all used them and our own Mas Hafizulhelmi has recently used it recently with good results!

Lim went through the basics of the opening and the basic opening traps for the Sicilian Dragon before going deeper in showing the participants the correct moves for Black to winning positions! My personal view, simply fantastic! Listening to his talk and his positive exuberance for the opening is very inspiring and convincing. Simply because IM Lim practises the opening himself and won games with it. His smooth lecture and confidence in the opening could not be denied in his tone of voice. He has done his homework well and backed it up with his own research notes on the opening! Uniquely a great Malaysian chess experience!
