6 July 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Muhd Syazwan Zulkifli (pix above)is leading the pack with 4 full points from four rounds of play in the year’s edition of the Grand Asian Chess Championship 2012 being held at the 2nd College, University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. Time control is 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment per move per player.
Six countries are participating comprising of China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and hosts, Malaysia. A total of 68 players are participating GACC 2012. Surprisingly, no GMs nor IMs this year. Only Malaysia’s newly crowned Asian Master, Ahmad Fadzil Nayan has a title.
Round 4 Results:
Chief arbiter is Najib A Wahab. The tournament runs till 10th July 2012, next Tuesday. So do dropby in University Malaya Jalan Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur to watch the games.
