WGM Irene Sukandar of Indonesia (right) beat WGM Tuvshintugs Batchimeg of Mongolia to grab solo lead with a perfect slate after four rounds of the Asian Continental Women's Championship in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Erstwhile co-leaders Yu Yangyi and Liu Qingnan drew their 4th round game to allow 3 others to climb to a share of the lead with 3.5 points after 4 rounds. Five men share the lead in the Open division. Tied with Yu and Liu are GMs Ding Liren of China, Oliver Barbosa of Philippines and Susanto Megaranto of Indonesia.
Megaranto played an inspired game against GM Zhao Jun of China, In this position (left) after 28...Bd7 Megaranto replied 29.Nc4! and threatened pawn promotion to force resignation in 38 moves.
