At the Universiti Teknologi Petronas Chess Rapid 2010 held on the 21st February 2010 in Seri Iskandar, Perak, Ian Udani emerged as the winner of the Open Category with 6.5 points from 7 rounds of play. While in second place was Tan Khai Boon and third, Sumant Subramaniam.
The evening before this tournament, Ian Udani had also won the UpTown Shah Alam which was an evening to early morning chess tournament held in Selangor! My surprise is that he could stay wide awaked for the UTP Chess Rapid Tournament in Seri Iskandar, Perak. A winner of sorts!
