16 February 2010. This is an amazing afternoon for all the players involved as we have a balanced draw of 19-19 each. In the last game of the day, Malaysia were leading at 19-18 but IM Mas Hafizulhelmi lost to his Singaporean opponent, the Commonwealth Champion 2009. So Malaysia – Singapore ended with an incredible draw, 19-19 all, in round 2.
Overall score, Malaysia 41-35 Singapore, for a major win for team Malaysia! As one blog mentioned Malaysia roars to a tigerish win over Singapore in the year of the tiger!
Tomorrow will be yet another battlefield as the players ready themselves for the chess rapids. Classical chess has clearly been won by the tigerish Malaysians roaring very loudly over their Singapore counterparts!
Well done, Malaysia! We need another win tomorrow! Keep it up, team Malaysia! As they say, Malaysia BOLEH!!!
