India Win Over Malaysia, World Youth

26 October 2011, Kuala Lumpur – In Turkey, India the favourites to win in round 2 took a commanding lead by white washing Malaysia 4-0. All four boards played by Yeoh Li Tian, Elgin, Eng Chiam and Roshan Ajeet Singh had their hands full playing against India’s IM and two FMs.

The official website in Turkey reported that 2011 World Youth Under 16 Chess Olympiad's second round finished at 14.10 pm. After the second game, Armenian Team won against Moldova with a 4-0 score and leading in the olympiad with 7.5 points. Indian Team placed second after the 4-0 victory against Malaysia. Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia are trailing behind the leaders with 6.5 points. The third round of the Olympiad will be played at 16.00 pm.

Here is a game between IM S Grover of India against Malaysia’s Yeoh Li Tian on first board. The Caro-Kann Opening transpired during the game. After white played 38.Rxf6, and if black played 38….Nxf6, then white will play 39. Ng6+ a double attack on King and Queen. If black plays 38… Qg8, black loses a piece and the white can save his rook with Rg6.
