Sumant, Evan, Yeap and Justin Co-Leads Into Final Round 9 of National Junior Championship 2009

Finally, the rankings of the players after round 8 indicate that four players in the boys category are sharing the lead with 6.5 points with tie-break points separating them marginally.

The title of National Junior Master (NJM) will have to be one of the four players either Sumant, Evan, Yeap or Justin. Who will it be?

The decision is in their hands. Each of the four will have to ensure a win in their final round 9. If after the 9 rounds is completed, the tie-break points will decide.

For the girls, NFM Nur Najiha is alone in the lead with 6.5 points. Trailing her are three others with 6.0 points, Amira Shahmina, Latifah Kaiyisah and Siti Aisyah bt Sabirin. If Najiha fumbles badly in the final round, the three can spoil her day with an emphatic win! My bet is Nur Najiha will win the girls title of NJWM (National Junior Woman Master). But I could be wrong!
