Selangor Chess Open 2010

29.04.2010 – Today is the start of the longest running chess tournament in the country, the 37th Selangor Chess Open 2010. Unfortunately for me I have not registered for the tournament due to work commitments. However, I hope to drop by at the DATCC when I can to see the happenings of the tournament.

There will be two rounds of play today. The DATCC now smarts with a larger floor space, recently acquired from the adjacent restaurant next door. This augurs well for the chess centre. It will definitely accommodate more chess players for future tournaments and warms the heart of all chess enthusiasts, knowing that DATCC is mushrooming to something bigger. Pleased to see that airconditioning and good lighting of the chess centre is given attention.

No less important is a small space for Muslims to do their prayers at a corner in-between games. Thanks to the owners of the DAT Chess Centre for being considerate to chess players and enthusiasts, alike!
