26 September 2011, Kuala Lumpur – In Slovenia, the 27th European Club Cup 2011 has begun and Ekonomist SGSEU Saratov takes the lead with a solid 6-0 win over Tammer-Shakki in the first round.

Meanwhile the 16th European Club Cup for Women 2011 saw the MIKA chess team taking the lead with a 3.5 – 0.5 win score over CS R. Fischer Chieti.
