7 January 2011, Kuala Lumpur – In the 53rd Torneo di Capodanno, Reggio Emilia, Italy, Vugar Gashimov of Azerbaijan won the tournament on tie-break points, scoring 6.0/9 points. In second place is Vallejo Pons Francisco of Spain, also with 6.0 points. However, Gashimov was awarded the winner’s trophy based on superior tie-break points. The final round 9 results and final standings are shown below:-
