15th August 2013, Kuala Lumpur – In round 8, earlier this evening, GM Xiu Deshun confirms his leadership with a win against Vietnamese IM Nguyen Duc Hoa on top board of the IGB Malaysia Open 2013. Xiu Deshun is alone at 7.0 points.
Top three players going into round 9 tomorrow are all Chinese players, namely, Xiu Deshun, Zhou Jianchao and Ma Qun. In that order of rank as well. Xiu Deshun with 7.0 points, Zhou Jianchao with 6.5 points and Ma Qun with 6.0 points.
Tomorrow morning, Xiu Deshun will meet Zhou Jianchao on top board to determine the winner of the IGB Malaysian Open 2013.
