15th August 2013, Kuala Lumpur – At the Malaysia Open, GM Xiu Deshun drew his seventh round game against GM Ma Qun of China and IM Nguyen Duc Hoa of Vietnam won his game on board two against GM Gupta Abhijeet of India. As a result, both GM Xiu Deshun of China and IM Nguyen Duc Hoa of Vietnam are joint leaders after round 7 with a score of six points.
