UiTM Won The Teams MASUM Chess 2012

5 May 2012, Kuala Lumpur – The Inter-Varsity Games was held in Kuching, Sarawak last month from 8 – 11 April 2011 and it was  called the Kejohanan Catur MASUM 2012. It was won by the UiTM women and men’s chess teams.

For the men, Universiti Teknologi MARA won with 5 wins, 2 draws and 20 board points. In second place was Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with a similar 5 wins, 2 draws but only 19.5 board points. Third was Universiti Malaya with 4 wins, 3 losses and 17 board points.

In the women’s team category, again Universiti Teknologi MARA won with 6 wins and 1 draw, with 22.5 board points. In second place was Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss with 21.5 board points. In third was International Islamic University with 4 wins, 3 draws and 19.5 board points.
