5 May 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Today two rounds of classical chess of the 39th Selangor Open 2012 was held. IM Rolando Nolte of the Philippines continues his onslaught of wins. He met Zaidan Zulkipli in round 6 and Kamaluddin Yusof in round 7 and ended the victor in both rounds.
Nolte has amassed 7 full points from 7 rounds and has only Ian Udani at 6 points as his nearest challenger. Ian Udani met Roshan Ajeet Singh on second board and won.

Some pictures of the players in the tournament. Manaog Stewart of Philippines played against NM Kamalarifin Wahiduddin of Malaysia on third board of round 7. Manaog stood behind his opponent to have the flipside view of the chess board.
Veteran Harun Bustaman was thinking hard during round 7 while Sumant Subramaniam has time to look around. Alfred Ting sitting beside Sumant was pondering his next move.
Kamaluddin Yusof lost on top board against IM Rolando Nolte was having a long think on his white positional chess pieces. Further a few rows away, Lim Kian Hwa of Sarawak facing Sumant in an uphill battle while next board, Muhd Nabil Azman Hisham won his game against Low Zhen Yu Cyrus
WCM Nur Nabila Azman Hisham playing the black pieces met Razali Hamzah (Ng6 blogger) on board 12 of round 7 and won. Mat Zaki Yeop met Ho Chen Ee on board 29 and won.
