4 September 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia is currently lying in 75th position in between Japan and Qatar after round 6 of the 40th Chess Olympiad 2012, Istanbul, Turkey. Malaysia now meets ICSC in round 7 tonight.
ICSC stands for International Committee of Silent Chess team. They have put up a GM and two IMs in tonight’s line-up against Malaysia. In terms of seeding ICSC are the 75th seeded team. So in theory, Malaysia is the underdogs in this tie.
Ranking after round 6:
Meanwhile the ladies did Malaysia proud last night by winning outright in the match against United Arab Emirates team with a score of 3.5 – 0.5! Great win in round 6. Tonight the ladies will now meet the 59th seeded Canadian chess team.
The Canadians have lined-up one WIM and two WCM against Malaysia’s one WFM and one WCM. Malaysia have rested WCM Nur Nabila bt Azman Hisham pushing Tan Li Ting to board 3.
