Tandag City Leads After Rd 5, ASTRO Team Rapid

24 August 2012, Kuala Lumpur – In the ASTRO Team Rapid, team Tandag City are now the new leaders with 5 wins, 10 Match points and 17.5 board points. Tandag City is represented by GM John Paul Gomez and GM Richard Bitoon and two other strong Pinoy chess pushers. In second spot is Tagaytay Team with 4 wins, 1 draw, 9 match points and 17.5 points while Quezon City Chess Team in third spot and MasterMind in fourth position.

Earlier this morning, the Malaysian Chess Tigers gave another roaring 4th round performance by beating MasterMind team, 2.5-1.5, narrowest of win. However, Chess Tigers have fallen to seventh position after the 5th round. Two other Malaysian teams have step into the picture with KL Fool Gone Mad in fifth position and JTR at 9th position. Meanwhile the Royal Selangor Club or simply RSC Team are in eleventh position and Penang Inferno on thirteenth position (look at table after round 5 below).
