Just a gentle reminder on the upcoming 750 Melaka International Chess Festival which will be starting less than 3 weeks away from today. If you have signed up for the event, we thank you for the support and interest that you have given us but if you have not…. hurry now and book your place! We are sending you this reminder to make sure that you do not miss this golden opportunity to be a part of a great event – a history in the making as this is Melaka first ever International Chess event and what an event it will be!!!!!
Do mark your calendar from 20th April to 1st May 2012 and come down and join us at Hang Tuah World Heritage Hotel Melaka, Melaka Bandaraya Bersejarah
With more and more players from all over the world registering for the event – including some 20 GM and 10 IM, we look forward to host more chess players to participate in this inaugural festival especially from the local chess community – ALL of YOU included!
There are special entry fees rate for IPTA students, School students, Members from the MCF Affiliated Association, National Age Group Junior Champions and of course, the CITIZENS of MELAKA (The attachment refers)
As you are aware, the 750 Years Melaka International Chess Festival offers 3 major events which are the Florencio Campomanes Memorial International Rapid Chess Championship, the Historical Melaka International Chess Championship and the Historical Melaka Challenger Chess Championship.
1. Florencio Campomanes Memorial International Rapid Chess Championship will be held over the weekend on 21st and 22nd of April. The event shall be played over 11 rounds using a time control of 25 minutes to finish. Total prize fund for this event is USD 20,000
2. The Melaka International and Melaka Challenger will run concurrent and will be held from 23rd April to 1st May 2012 played over 9 rounds using classical time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment from move 1. The total prize fund for the International Open is RM 40,000 (about USD 13,000) and for the Challenger event is RM 10,000 (about USD 3,500)
If you are interested to take part in this event, please fill up and complete the attached forms and return it to Mr Khairi Jansar at kj_melaka@yahoo.com (with copies to me at najib.wahab@chess-malaysia.com and Mr Gregory Lau at msianchess2010@gmail.com) as soon as possible together with a scanned copy of the bank transfer/transaction slip paid to the Festival bank account. All payments for entry fees, accommodation (if any) and airport transfer fees/tour packages (if any) MUST be banked into the same bank account
