5 October 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Due to heavy work schedule, left chess behind for a couple of days. Three players ended with a score of 7 points but GM Topalov Veselin of Bulgaria has the higher tie-break points followed by GM Gelfand Boris and then GM Mamedyarov Shakhriyar of Azebaijan.
The results of the last two rounds, 10 and 11 are shown below:-
Here is Topalov’s last round win against Anish Giri of the Netherlands during the FIDE Grand Prix London 2012. Topalov played the black pieces and had a rook, knight and one pawn against white’s two pawns and a rook.
Position after black played 52…Rc3+, white resigned.
