Final Results of Hari Raya Classical Chess, 23-24 September 2009

The final round results and ranking of the Hari Raya Classical Chess held at Excel Chess Academy, OUG, Kuala Lumpur from 23-24 September 2009 are as shown in the following two tables.

Incredibly, Jax Tham wins the Hari Raya Classical Chess and manages to turn the tables against the top seed, Abdullah Che Hassan with ease in the sixth and final round of play. Fantastic play by Jax Tham, who happens to be the organiser of this Hari Raya Classical Chess 2009.

A total of 22 local players participated in this Hari Raya Classical Chess 2009 held by Excel Chess Academy. For the first time, there is some cash prizes to be won for the top three positions in this Classical Chess series of tournaments, mooted and spearheaded by Jax Tham, almost single-handedly. That is a proud achievement for this veteran chess player from Malaysia!

The fun hasn't stopped there, though. There will be another Classical Chess in early October 2009, to be held from 2nd to 4th October 2009 for the monthly First Friday Classical Chess.
