Camilia Johari has pulled one back for Malaysia by winning the fourth board against unrated Marjatta Kujasalo of Finland. Malaysia 1-1 all! Camilia played 36. Rf8! with next move mate with Qg8#.

Latest News: IM Lim Yee Weng was lucky to get an agreed draw against his Suriname opponent on top board only minutes ago. Anyway, Malaysia is now 1.5-0.5! We need either two draws or at least one win from the remaining two boards being played.

Minutes ago, another draw was declared on third board. IM Jimmy Liew managed an agreed draw and the board was drawish indeed! So Malaysia is 2-1 up against Suriname! We need another half point to secure a win. Can Lim Zhuo Ren deliver?

Meanwhile, in the women’s we just lost board 2 fight. Nur Nabila lost to Anastasia Nazarova. So Malaysia is 1-2 down! Can Nur Najiha salvage the last point and make it 2-2 for Malaysia? The odds are stacked high against her as her position is not good at all right now. She has to deal with 4 white pawns and a rook against her one pawn and a rook! I doubt it! More likely a 1-3 loss coming our way. We shall see.

Latest News: Malaysia just won the fourth board, giving Malaysia a 3-1 win! Thanks to Zhuo Ren’s efforts on the last board team Malaysia has secured an emphatic win over Suriname, 3-1! Well done team Malaysia!
