1 May 2012, Kuala Lumpur – The Historical Melaka International Open 2012 was won by GM Czebe Attila of Hungary with unassailable 7.5 points. The score is 1.5 points ahead of the nearest challenger, GM Laxman R R of India at 6.0 points and third, GM Deepan Chakkravarthy J of India.

Meanwhile contrary to earlier leads, Endang Andrian claim the Challengers title by winning his last round against Yusoff Fairul on second board and Gatot Suyono of Indonesia lost dramatically to Fong Choong Ee of Malaysia on top board. Endang scored 7.5 points with higher tie-break points and declared the winner. Gatot also scored 7.5 points but ended in second place. In third place is Wakoko Enos of Ugandan with 7.0 points. He beat Latifah Kaysiyah bt Mohd Latif of Malaysia on third board.
