Kamaluddin Wins Preliminary 2nd ELITE Open

13 February 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here are the official final results of the Preliminary round of the 2nd INSOFAR Elite Chess Open 2011 held today at DATCC, Kuala Lumpur.

Kamaluddin Yusof (top left pix)  edged out Ahmad Fadzil Nayan (top right pix) for first place in the preliminary round of the 2nd Insofar ELITE Chess Open 2011 with 5 points from six rounds. Second was Ahmad Fadzil Nayan, while third place went to the now familiar Taulani Tukiran with 4 points. Fourth place was Mohd Fadli Zakaria scoring equal 4 points and fifth ranked went to Mohammad Ariez Azman.

Meanwhile early favourite, NM Kamalariffin Wahiddudin suffered two losses during the tournament and ended in seventh position and 3.5 points to show.
