World Youth Chess In 2011 and 2012
27 October 2010, Porto Carras, Greece – Latest news: The next two world youth chess events has been decided as follows:
The World Youth Chess Championship 2011 will take place in Rio’m, Brazil. While the 2012 World Youth Chess will be hosted by Maribor, Slovenia.

Puteri Rifqah Pushes Ahead!
27 October 2010, Porto Carras, Greece – During the seventh round, two significant wins by two Malaysian players pushes the limelight to these two players.
One is Puteri Rifqah Fahada (Girls, U10) as her third consecutive win in the seventh round catapults her ranking to the 14th from 24th. Second is Wong Yinn Long (Boys U08) as he strikes another win in the seventh round by scalping a young Russian opponent, ranked higher than him. Wong moves from 38th to 26th position in his category. Well done!
Malaysia scored six wins and one draw during the 7th round. Malaysia’s winners in this round include Wong Yinn Long (Boys U08), Muhd Faqih b Aminuddin (Boys U08), Aron Teh Eu Wan (Boys U12), Puteri Rifqah Fahada bt Azhar (Girls U10), WCM Nur Nabila bt Azman Hisham (Girls U14) and WFM Nur Najiha bt Azman Hisham (Girls U12).

Carlsen Dominates, Bacrot Stirs A Win!
26 October 2010, Nanjing – At the Nanjing Pearl Spring Masters Chess Tournament 2010, Carlsen storms ahead with another demolition win over Veselin Topalov during fifth round of the prestigious Level 26 chess tournament.
Meanwhile Bacrot creates a stir by winning against Vishy Anand, the current World Champion in the fifth round.

Two draws and a win for Vishy Anand over Wang Yue during the 6th round play in the Nanjing Pearl Spring Masters chess tournament.

Rifqah Storms Ahead In World Youth Chess Championship 2010
Camilia Johari is still in the top 40 of her category despite suffering a loss in the sixth round against a 1800 rating Georgian lass. Wong Yinn Long dropped to 38th placing after a lacklustre performance in the sixth round after a loss to a local Grecian player.

Economist-SGSEU-1 Is Winner Of ECC 2010
24 October 2010, Plovdiv – Economist-SGSEU-1 was proclaimed the champions of the 26th European Club Cup 2010 which ended in a draw against rivals, Yugra of Russia. The seventh round produce draws on the top two tables. Both Economist and SOCAR drew against their respective opponents on tables 1 and 2 in the seventh round of the European Chess Club Cup 2010 in Bulgaria.
Meanwhile Baden-Baden OSG of Germany played to form by beating Mika Yerevan 3.5-2.5 on the third table. Board 4 played by GM Naiditsch Arkaidij of Baden-Baden was decisive. Naiditsch beat Pashikian 1-0.
