Jax Tham Is Christmas Rapid 2009 Champion!

As expected, Jax Tham has won the just concluded Christmas Rapid 2009 with an incredible 9.5 points out of a possible 10!

Second is Roshan Ajeet Singh with 8.0 points and Aron Teh, third placed with 7.5 points. The 5th-8th placings were Ahmad Imran Zainal, Vijay Raj, Ashman Raziuddin and Haslindah Ruslan in that order.

With so many chess tournaments running simultaneously during this Christmas Holidays, it has somewhat taken off the shine for this competition as I feel the competition was a bit one-sided affair with not much competition to the superiority of Jax Tham’s caliber.

Some of the usual suspects are in Sibu, Sarawak playing for their State teams from 25-27th December 2009. Nevertheless, having said that it provided important chess competition for the players that participated in the rapid at Excel Chess Academy.
