One Player Fined, Two Lost On Zero Start, Asian Games

Photo by Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh 16 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – News has emerged from Guangzhou during the sixth round of the Asian Games individual chess rapid event that two Mongolian chess players were penalised for not being found seated at the start of the round. They were reported to be late by about five seconds.

While a third player from Bangladesh was fined 2000 Yuan or USD 300 for allowing the phone to ring in the tournament hall during the round.
