Team AU Leads In Chess League 2010

Here is the cross table after the second round results of the 3rd DATCC KL Chess Team League 2010. The second round of play was held on 31st March 2010, Wednesday.

Team AU now takes the lead after round 2 with a solid 3-1 win over UKM chess team. Second place, Think Big, won their 2nd round game but lost one board and drew on another board, losing precious board points against their top rivals, Team AU.
Biggest jump is Nusa Mahkota Chess Club from sixth position to third position with their win against Sea Horse of Petronas who has IM Mas on the team, though he did not play.
In fourth place is Price Waterhouse Coopers, down by one, after drawing with Kam Mah, fifth placed team.
In sixth position is team Excel Chess Team that have youngsters Lim Zhou Ren, Tariq Amru, Tan Ken Wei. Though they lost against Think Big, however Tan Ken Wei managed a win against Premnath of Think Big and Tariq sneaked in a draw on the fourth board against Yeoh Chin Seng. Not bad, really.
Team Gung Ho is in eighth position, jumped up by one, after beating Tan and Tan, 3.5:0.5. Only Alfred Ting of Gung Ho gave away a half-point on first board against Chan Kwai Keong of Tan & Tan.
The girls’ team are in 13th position after drawing their match against Ad Hoc chess team 2-2. Another young team is First Saturday Chess Team with Wong Jian Wen, Yat Guo Jie, Roshan Singh, and Tan Wei Hao beating Black Pearl with 3.5-0.5. Meanwhile 17 ChessClub beat DATCC Chess Team with the same scoreline. The saving half point coming from the fourth board between Varien and Firdaus Johari.
