22nd June 2014, Kuala Lumpur – The Gula Perlis Open Chess Challenge 2014 was won by Filipino, Nelson Villanueva with 6.5 points. Second was NM Tan Khai Boon of Penang with 6.0 points and third, Chuah Hao Feng, Penang, with 6.0 points.

Here is the announcement from Syaifulzamani bin Ismail on facebook:

Nimzo Indian countered by Viktor Bologan

6th June 2014, Kuala Lumpur - Here is a game between Viktor Bologan and Pavel Eljanov during the 15th Karpov Grandmaster tournament 2014 in Poikovsky, Russia.

Viktor Bologan is known for a somewhat unorthodox repertoire. On many occasions Bologan has defended the Benko Gambit or Black Knight's Tango. But in the Karpov Poikovsky tournament he debated Ukrainian grandmaster Pavel Eljanov on classic territory in the Nimzo Indian. The game showcased important strategy for both sides, with the result showing that we should be careful not to judge too much from the result of a favorite game from history.
